Stan Levine
Artist's Statement
I have always found everyday life to be a series of repetitious movements that are boring if not arduous. We wake up, we eat breakfast, we go to work, we get home, we watch television, eat, sleep, and do it all over again until the day we die. Being creative is what separates one day from the last. Making art, makes life always something fresh, new and exciting. It's how I live.
I like the permanence of ink markers, because it challenges me to visualize not only what I want to draw but the process of how I will construct it in a series of strokes that will not be easily erased if positioned incorrectly.
My art is an inward journey; a reflection of my soul in all that I experience during the course of my life. My art communicates my feelings about the subject matter in each piece. It is alive and untamed. It is evocative and exotic. It is all about creating something original, fresh and new.
